This month's Nourish to Flourish themes are hand washing, bike helmets, and hydration. To support the theme of hydration, students are encouraged to use water bottles to school.

*October 2 - PTO Bake Sale at Oak Park Farmer's Market
Support our PTO by stopping by the Farmer's Market and purchasing items from the Bake Sale. If you would like to help please contact one of our PTO leadership team members by visiting the PTO Website

*October 4 -Picture Day
All students will have their pictures taken on this day. More information will be available in an upcoming digital backpack

*October 4 - Longfellow Wellness Committee Meeting (3:15) - Staff Lounge
Committee of staff members and parents meet to discuss ways to educate our staff and students on maintaining wellness. All are welcome!

*October 6 - Walk to School Day
Walk with your children to school in efforts to promote healthy lifestyles.

*October 6 - New Family Welcome Dinner (6:30) - Mini-Gym
All families new to Longfellow are invited to a PTO sponsored dinner to welcome you to the Longfellow Family. Watch for invitations being delivered to your home.

*October 11 - No School - Columbus Day

*October 13 - PAAC Meeting (7:00) - Media Center
Not just for parents of African-American children, but for parents of all minority children. Join us as we plan activities for the year, to celebrate our rich heritages.

*October 13 - October 15 - 5th Grade Outdoor Education Trip
Fifth-grade students travel to YMCA Camp Algonquin for a three-day, two-night trip.

*October 16 - Market Day Pick-up
Be sure to place your order by Wednesday, October 13. You can order Market Day here.

*Week of October 18 - Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
Watch for information from your child's classroom teacher regarding scheduling your conference

*Week of October 18 - PTO Book Fair
Be sure to stop by the PTO Book Fair and purchase some reading material for your children

*October 19 - Community Chat with Dr. Roberts (7:00) - Auditorium
Join Dr. Roberts as he holds a forum for families and community members to hear any and all concerns and comments you may have.
