Students in grades 2 – 5 have been taking the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. The testing period for all students in these grades began Monday, Sept 13 and will continue through Friday, Sept 24. During this window of time, your child will spend a total of about two hours completing these two tests.
By the completion of the testing window, students will have taken a reading test and a math test. The MAP assessment will be used to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure his or her academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year. Teachers have immediate data to inform their instruction to assist in meeting the needs of all students.
Each student takes the reading and math assessments on a computer. The questions automatically adjust to the child’s appropriate level of learning, based on the child’s responses.
You can access more information about the MAP assessment here. Please also contact your teacher, should you have more questions.
